Background:
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies, and the development of democratic institutions worldwide.
DRI is currently recruiting a Digital Media Officer for its Country Office in Lebanon.
Your tasks
Under the supervision of the Communications Coordinator, you will:
  • Supports the Communications Coordinator in the development, implementation, and continuous adjustment of DRI’s overall communications and visibility strategy across all projects to ensure that DRI Lebanon’s social/digital media ecosystem is optimally activated;
  • Designs, oversees, and manages DRI’s social media content strategy across all projects and outlets (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. with an activation strategy for Twitter and TikTok) from end-to-end;
  • Designs and implements a content calendar that specifies the type of visual content needed to promote DRI’s engagement in Lebanon;
  • Designs and implements a boosting and advertising strategy to optimise audience reach and engagement;
  • Assesses the competition landscape and manages DRI Lebanon’s strategic positioning in the digital space;
  • Analyses, engages, and grows DRI Lebanon’s audiences in line with the type of content produced;
  • Ensures that DRI Lebanon’s visual identity is mainstreamed according to DRI global’s branding guidelines;
  • Coordinates with the Visual Communication Officer to ensure that visual content and materials, including infographics, animations, and various visualisations (graphs, icons, charts, etc.) are duly implemented;
  • Compiles, consolidates, and analyses social media analytics and metrics across all projects, and submits periodic assessment reports outlining key takeaways and actionable recommendations;
  • Keeps a detailed record of all financial transactions related to online marketing and boosting, as requested by the Finance Unit;
  • Supports quality control, including copywriting and proofreading of print and online outputs;
  • Performs other relevant duties, as required.
Your skills and experience
 Required:
  
  • University degree in Digital Marketing, Communications,      Advertising, or equivalent;   
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, advertising content creation (Facebook Ads and business management, Google Ads);  
  • Strategic thinking and a track record of strategy development for digital media;  
  • Creativity and ability to write engaging media content for a      variety of audiences;   
  • A proactive team player with a “can-do” attitude” who can blend into a diverse team;   
  • Outstanding communication skills and high emotional intelligence;  
  • Thoroughness, accuracy, and a keen eye for detail;   
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Google Analytics;   
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. 
 
Preferred:
  • Project management experience;
  • Knowledge of public governance, democracy standards, and international human rights conventions;
  • Copywriting skills.
