Location: Berlin (remote work with presence at the office at least one day a week)  


Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin with several country offices worldwide. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies, and the development of democratic institutions worldwide.

DRI is currently recruiting a Working Student-Human Resources and Administration (m/f/d), based in Berlin and under the overall supervision of the Director of HR and Administration. You will be responsible for personnel matters and support of administration topics at the headquarters in Berlin. We use Personio as HR management and recruiting tool to ensure efficient processes. You will also coordinate and support aspects of office and events management. You will closely collaborate with the Human Resources and Administration Assistant. 

Your tasks
  Human Resources
  • Supporting HQ for human resources topics    
  • Supporting recruitments: posting job ads (internal and external), longlisting applications, corresponding with applicants;    
  • Supporting the team with onboarding and offboarding processes;   
  • Supporting of time sheet and staff cost allocation process  
  • Support in further development of HR related processes, policies and templates;  
  • Supporting the HR/Admin team in tasks related to pages on DRI´s intranet  (SharePoint) and website.
Administration (Office and Event Management) 
  • Serving as a contact person for staff, landlord, office cleaner and other service providers regarding office matters;  
  • Maintaining/updating of all official company related documents and supporting with tender documents;  
  • Supporting the team in topics related to legal documents; 
  • Preparation of presentations and training material;   
  • Supporting with the regulation of workplace safety regulations. 
Your skills and experience

Required:  

  • Studying in a German University in a relevant field (HR management, business or public administration, law, psychology);
  • Minimum 1 year working experience in the fields of administration, human resources. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to set priorities, complete tasks autonomously with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines;
  • Empathy, sensitivity and discretion; 
  • Good organisational skills and service mentality;
  • Digital affinity and innovative mindset;
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team;
  • Excellent written and spoken English, good German language skills is preferred.

 

Preferred:

  • Good knowledge of MS 365 including SharePoint;
