Project Assistant – Ukraine (m/f/d)

Background
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is an international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization committed to political participation and democratic governance around the world. DRI headquarters (HQ) is in Berlin; DRI has country offices in Tunisia, Lebanon, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ukraine, and works with local partners in a number of other countries.  
DRI is currently recruiting a full-time Project Assistant – Ukraine.  

In collaboration with and under the supervision of the Country Director - Ukraine, the Project Assistant - Ukraine will contribute to the entirety of the project cycle while ensuring compliance with donor commitments, internal DRI policies, and the objectives of the DRI Ukraine office. The working language is English.
Your tasks
  • Project administration and support to management;   
  • Support the effective implementation of DRI activities throughout the project management cycle, together with the project team and external partners;    
  • Support in the recruitment/procurement and management of national experts, including travel logistics;   
  • Support the organization and its implementation of DRI events in Ukraine; assist in event management tasks;  
  • Assist in maintaining project files, databases and other resources;  
  • Support regular internal and donor reporting;  
  • Support DRI’s monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL);    
  • Support the preparation of inputs to planning, formulation and implementation of DRI’s programming in Ukraine;  
Communications  and  Research   
  • Contribute to writing and editing website stories and newsletter articles;   
  • Support in drafting and scheduling content for social media channels;  
  • Conduct research for project development: possible themes and funding schemes. Monitor calls for proposals;   
  • Conduct research on current and political affairs with a particular focus on civil society, youth participation, elections, constitutions and overall democratization issues.  
  • Other relevant duties as required.   
Your skills and experience
Required:
•    University degree, preferably in project management, political science, law, business administration, or other related field;   
•    Minimum of two years of relevant experience in NGOs;   
•    Understanding and experience in project administration;   
•    Excellent communication, coordination skills;   
•    Knowledge and experience in working with MS Office, communication platforms; 
•    Proactive and supportive team spirit;   
•    Advanced written and spoken English.  

Preferred:
•    Understanding of or interest in the political context and democratic reform process in Ukraine is desirable.
