Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies, and the development of democratic institutions worldwide.
DRI is currently recruiting a Communications Associate for its Country Office in Lebanon to work on DRI’s Lebanon newsletter, handle the communications strategy, and uplift the content of the DRI website.


Your tasks
Under the supervision of the Country Representative and in close coordination with the Content Production and Media Relations Coordinator, the Communications Associate:
•    Develops the DRI Lebanon monthly newsletter from end-to-end, including collecting input from the DRI team and partners, drafting inspiring stories and project highlights (shedding light on the achievements of DRI and its partners), selecting engaging pictures, liaising with external consultants involved in the process, and ensuring a high-quality final product;
•    Develops and drafts content for the DRI website, social media channels, press releases, factsheets, and other communications materials; 
•    Uploads relevant content to the DRI website in a timely manner and ensures its consistency;
•    Collaborates with the Communications Focal Point at DRI Berlin on content planning as part of an integrated content calendar for DRI Global that sheds light on DRI MENA projects at a global scale;
•    Monitors and tracks daily DRI media mentions and media coverage of DRI’s work;
•    Follows up with the social media agency with regards to the development of the monthly content calendar and ensures a smooth workflow with the agency;
•    Reviews social media analysis reports and contributes to internal and donor reporting;
•    Ensures the visual consistency of DRI across social media platforms (fixed styles, fonts, formatting, icons, images and designs, and layout techniques);
•    Supports the implementation and further development of DRI’s communication;
•    Supports activity-related outreach and media relations (developing media messages, writing press materials, drafting and editing comment pieces in English and Arabic);
•    Ensures gender and diversity mainstreaming across all communications; and
•    Performs other relevant duties, as required.


Your skills and experience
Required:
•    University degree in communications, journalism, media studies, or a related field;
•    Experience in website and social media platforms management;
•    Copywriting and editing skills, ability to write engaging media content for a variety of audiences;
•    Outstanding attention to detail, sense of accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency;
•    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and Google Workspace;
•    Strong emotional intelligence, with outstanding communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage conflict;
•    Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
