Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies, and the development of democratic institutions worldwide.
DRI is currently recruiting a Project Officer for its Country Office in Lebanon. Under the supervision of the Programme Manager.
Your tasks
Project implementation –
•    Implement assigned project activities and outputs, such as events, workshops, trainings etc.;  
•    Engage with DRI partners and stakeholders in fulfilment of the project activities; 
•    Travel in the different regions of Lebanon to ensure sound implementation of project activities;
•    Support in reviewing DRI publications and research outputs, including liaising with external experts and consultants;  
•    Support project communications, incl. the planning, development, and implementation of digital content, and outreach/advocacy activities; 
Learning and reporting –
•    Monitor and report on the implementation of project activities, update the project workplan accordingly, and develop internal and donor reporting on relevant projects through writing and researching for narrative reports;  
•    Monitor and report on political, social and legal developments relevant to the projects;  
•    Contribute to, and input on, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks and tools, and drafting of MEL reports in accordance with DRI’s MEL and donor guidelines and in close coordination with the MEL focal point;  
•    Actively contribute to, and engage in the review and formulation of MEL and impact reports of all kinds;
•    Ensure gender and diversity mainstreaming in the implementation of all project activities and project monitoring;
Operations –
•    Coordinate with the Procurement focal point on all procurement, ensuring that procedures are followed and submitted on a timely basis to facilitate timely implementation of field activities and adhering to both DRI and donor requirements in meeting the project objectives; 
Fundraising and programme development –
•    Support programme development as well as the design and implementation of project frameworks and grant/proposal writing;  
•    Support in drafting project concept notes and activity concepts to provide detailed planning for each project activity;
Your skills and experience
Required:
  • University degree in social sciences, political science, public administration, development studies, environmental studies, public policy, law or a related field;
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Project Cycle Management, involving fieldwork and liaising with a diverse spectrum of stakeholders;
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a strong sense of thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency;
  • A proactive team player with a “can-do” attitude” who can blend into a diverse team; 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Good communication and negotiation skills; 
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic. 
 
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of public governance, democracy standards, and international human rights conventions;
